The first hazy days of being at home with your baby as a family

I'll come to your home and I will just fit in with whatever stage of the day you're at... We'll try to capture some feeding, cuddles, awake time and naps... This is about capturing the reality of your lives together in this phase which passes by so fast as you settle into the rhythms of parenthood.

The reason I recommend that we do newborn shoots at home is that I understand that there is no planning anything at this time of your lives and that last thing you need is the time pressure and stress of getting out of the door. It's all about keeping things relaxed. I always end up being very flexible with my time on Newborn shoots too, it is not a predictable world and I 100% understand this 🤍

A common worry is the state of your home - please don't worry AT ALL about this! Chaos is normal at this stage. Most of the time it won't feature and, if it does, we can always pop some bits away and have a quick tidy to clear the area. If you do have time to clear the clutter that can give more flexibility but if not I can work around it and I totally get it. If, however, you have a place that you want to remember in your photographs we can absolutely include your beautiful home as a feature.

"It was you who introduced me to so many firsts,

to a different type of love, heartache, and to me.

It was you who showed me a different view of the world,

decisions, memories, dreams, are all shaped with you."

A letter to My Firstborn

From Beautiful Chaos by Jess Urlichs

A sleeping infant rests peacefully on someone's chest in a blue shirt.
An intimate black and white portrait of a nurturing moment with a baby.
A tender outdoor family moment with a newborn baby dressed in light blue.
A gentle black and white close-up of a sleeping infant.
Tiny baby feet cradled in adult hands against a soft background.
A black and white close-up of tiny baby fingers grasping an adult hand.
A tender moment between parent and infant as they share a gentle kiss in soft natural lighting.
Close-up of a loving moment between parent and baby touching foreheads together.
Intimate portrait of a sleeping baby nestled against parent's chest in peaceful embrace.
Person in suspenders sits barefoot on wooden chair by window, holding and feeding an infant.
